Blocking the websites, enable us to restrict the irrelevant sites containing an inappropriate and the offensive content. If you are using the Firefox, then there is no built-in feature with which you can prohibit these sites. You can only do this by installing the “Block Site” which is an extension that allows you to permanently Block a Website in Firefox.
The other way to perform this activity is to add the addresses of the website in the Host file under “My Computer”. Hosts files are generally available on every Operating system. You can block a website in Firefox by following any of the two methods explained below.
Steps to Block a Website in Firefox
Method 1 of 2:
Step 1: Click on the highlighted icon as shown in the image below, then go to “Add-ons”.
Step 4: Click on “Agree and Continue” to accept their terms.
Click on “Options” button.
To block specific sites add the url of these site and click on “Add” radio button. After doing this click “OK”.
Step 7: For the authentication purpose you may “Enable authentication” and set password so that nobody without your authorization can add or remove these sites from blocked list.
Method 2 of 2:
Step 1: Click on “Start” button, go to “Computer”.
Step 2: In “C Drive” you will find the “Windows” folder click on it.
Step 7: Open the host file with Notepad click on “OK”.
Step 8: You”ll see certain lines of explanation don’t play with it, simply, in the next line type the IP address of the site and after space write the name of the site, in the way as highlighted in the image below.
