Steps to Change Logon Screen in Windows 10
Step 1: First type “regedit” on the Windows search bar, then Click on it to open.
Step 2: Inside the “Registry Editor” click on “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE” and then click on “SOFTWARE”.
Step 3: Now, Go to the “Microsoft” folder.
Step 4: Then click on “Windows” folder.
Step 5: Click on “CurrentVersion” under the Windows folder.
Step 6: Go to the “Authentication” folder.
Step 7: Inside the authentication folder, you”ll see “LogonUI” folder, just click on it.
Step 8: Then go to the “Background” folder. When you click on the folder “OEMBackground” file will appear on the right side, click on this file.
Step 9: A dialog box will appear, set a “value data” to ‘1’ and base as “Hexadecimal” and then press “OK” button.
Step 10: Then go to “C:\Windows\System32”, search for a folder named “oobe”, double click on it.
Step 11: Create a folder named “info” inside the ”oobe” folder.
Step 12: Again create a folder called as “backgrounds” but it should be inside the “info” folder.
Step 13: Now you have to choose the wallpaper that you want to set as your log on screen. Copy that folder inside the “backgrounds” folder as described above.
Name the folder as backgroundDefault.jpg.
- The image format should be in jpg.
- The Size of the image should not exceed than 256 KB.
- To look at the changed logon screen window, press “Win button + L” OR simply Logoff.
