There can be several reasons to delete contacts in Gmail. It may be the case that the contacts are not in use, or the contacts of corresponding individuals have been changed, or you have unwanted contacts in your database. Gmail allows you to delete the contacts in bulk.
You can simply select the contacts that you want to delete and delete them with a single click. In this section, we will discuss the steps to delete the contacts in Gmail.
Steps to Delete Contacts in Gmail:
Step 1: Log in to your Gmail account of which you want to delete the contacts.
Step 2: After logging in successfully, you can see 3 by 3 dot matrix which is an icon for Google apps. Click the Google apps icon.
Step 3: On clicking the Google apps icon it will display several Google apps. Among these apps, you have to choose the Contacts app.
Step 4: Contacts page will open in a new tab, I have only one contact saved in my Contacts database. So, let us see how we can delete contacts.
Beside each contact, there is a checkbox like you can see in the image below. Click the checkboxes of all those contacts that you want to delete. This allows you to delete the contacts in a bulk.
Step 5: After you select the contacts that you have to delete click on the More actions button which is denoted by three vertical dots at the starting of contacts.
Steps 6: More actions button will provide some options among which there is a Delete option. Click on Delete. Before you click Delete be sure that you have selected only those contacts that have to be deleted.
Step 7: A confirmation dialog box will open displaying the Delete button. Click the Delete button to finally delete the selected contacts.
