Do you want to make your Website or a Blog interactive and more attractive than ever before? Great, for that you may use Widgets. Basically, widget is the tool which is used to customize your blog or a website. It includes icons, pull-down menus, buttons, selection boxes, toggle buttons, forms and many other features that help to make your website look good.

Steps to Add a Widget in WordPress
Method 1 of 2:
Step 1: Go to the “Appearance”, various options will be displayed click on “Widgets”.
Step 2: Choose the widget you want, I have chosen “Text” so that it will appear on the Main Sidebar.
Drag and drop the widget to the sidebar you want.
Step 3: “Text” widget is added on Main sidebar as show in the image below.
You can customize it from the option given then click on “Save”.
Step 4: Users can also add widgets from the Inactive widgets section using the drag & drop method.
Here, I want the Categories to get added to the “First Front widget Area” .
Step 5: Categories is now added to my preferred panel, customization can be done then click on “Save”.
Method 2 of 2:
Step 1: After going to the widgets section, simply click on any one widget such as I want “Recent Posts” to get added,so I clicked on it.
Step 2: As shown in image, select the panel so that your widget will be added to the same.
Here, I have selected “Main Sidebar”and click on “Add Widget”.
Step 3: My widget is added to the panel, the options for customization is also available. Click on “Save” once you are done.
