Sometimes it is very tedious to add your contacts one after another which takes several minutes. But instead of doing such kind of unwanted hard work, you can just import your contacts from any spreadsheets or a CSV file. Steps to add contacts using a CSV file in Gmail:
Step 1: First open your excel sheet which contains all your contact information, then you must need to check each and every field accurately.
Step 2: After that you have to save your file in CSV format as shown in the image below.
Step 3: Now, login to your Gmail account and then select “Contacts” option which is at the top left corner of your Gmail dashboard.
Step 4: Under Gmail contacts, go to “More” tab as shown in the image below.
Step 5: Under ‘More’ tab, go to “Import” option which is used to transfer all your contacts from a single file to your gmail contact.
Step 6: If you are using the preview version of Gmail then you might get following error message saying ” This preview version of Google Contacts” doesn’t support importing yet.” Now, to import your contacts you’ve to click “Go to old contacts” button.
Step 7: Now again, select “Import Contacts” option from old Google Contacts.
Step 8: You may see a new dialog box pops open. Here, you’ve to click on “Browse” button in order to upload your file to Gmail servers.
Step 9: Just select your CSV file from your system and then press “Open” button as shown in the image below.
Step 10: Finally, when your file gets uploaded, then you may click on “Import” button.
Step 11: Now, you can clearly see all your contacts from CSV file are now added to Gmail contact list.
