Though it takes only a couple of seconds to log in to your computer. But doing it every time when the system is booted, sometimes feel irritating. Yes, you can definitely skip login just by following few steps.
In this section, we will discuss how to auto login in Windows 10. But before proceeding with the steps you must be assured that you are the sole user of this computer or the person with whom you share the computer is reliable. Because other users will be able to directly access your account even when they are unaware of the password.
Proceeding further we will discuss two methods for enabling auto-login Windows 10 those are:
Steps to Auto-Login in Windows 10:
Method 1: User Accounts
Step 1: Using the start button go to the Run or you can directly open the Run box by pressing Windows + R.
Step 2: In the Run box type netplwiz and click OK.
Step 3: The User Accounts dialog box will open you have to uncheck the first checkbox with the text “User must enter user name and password to use this computer”. Select your account and click Apply.
Step 4: Automatically sign in dialog box will appear asking you for the Password and later Confirm Password. Click OK.
Method 2: Registry Editor
Step 1: Open the Run box and type Regedit and click OK.
Step 2: A Registry Editor Dialog box will open. Here, you have to follow the key given below:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon.
Step 3: Now at the right-hand side find the entry named DefaultUserName. You have to double click on it. A dialog box will appear with two entries Value name and Value data; under Value data, you must find your user name. click OK.
Step 4: Further find for the entry name DefaultPassword. If not found, then create it by right click at the free space in dialog box at the right-hand side. New>String Value.
Step 5: Open the DefaultPassword entry and type your password in Value data box. Click OK.
Step 6: A doialog box will appear with Value name AutoAdminLogon and under Value data set 1 to enable auto-login.
That’s it, now further you never have to enter the password when the system is booted it will directly boot up to the desktop screen.
