Sometimes it’s very irritating to receive emails from an unwanted sender. Gmail allows you to block emails from a particular sender. Emails from the blocked sender are stored in Spam. You can also unblock the sender if required. In this section, we will discuss the steps to block emails on Gmail.
Steps to Block Emails on Gmail:
Step 1: First login to your Gmail account with Gmail-id and Password.
Step 2: At very first you will view the recently arrived emails in the inbox. Simply click on an email which you want to block. As for explanation purpose, I have clicked on the email received from O’Reilly.
Step 3: The email will get opened. To the top right corner of the mail, you have the menu button denoted with three vertical dots as you can see in the image below. Click the menu button.
Step 4: The menu will list out some options among them one option is Block “sender-name”. In my case sender name is O’Reilly. Click the Block.
Step 5: A dialog box will pop out with the message:
“Future messages from sender-name <sender-email-id>will be marked as Spam.”
You must agree with the situation if you want to block the emails for a particular sender. Click Block.
From now onward all the mail from this particular sender will be listed as spam. You can view all the blocked emails in the Spam folder of your Gmail account.
Step 6: As soon as you click Block, a message will display on the email you blocked as below:
“You have blocked <sender-email-id> New messages from this sender will be sent to Spam.”
It also provides you option to Unblock sender or Move to spam.
The previous emails from the blocked sender will still be there in the inbox and also have the message as above. But, you will not receive future emails from the blocked sender into your inbox.
