The size of icons on your desktop may not concern you until it becomes uncomfortable; too small to look at or too big to fit into your screen.
The desktop of a multi-tasking techie is usually full of icons of different apps, folders and files. Perhaps, these icons may occupy the whole screen and make it look messy and congested.
In some other scenario, a user might feel a strain on the eyes while looking at the tiny icons.
No worries! Windows 10 lets you change the icon size according to your convenience. Not only the desktop icons but also the icons on the taskbar and file explorer can be enlarged or reduced in size. In this article, we are going to describe multiple methods to change the icon size in Windows 10.

- 175%
As you move the slider, you will immediately notice the change in the size of icons and text.
Steps to change the Icon Size in File Explorer in Windows 10
The icons of files and folders present in the file explorer can be viewed as large, medium or small icons and they can also be arranged in different ways including tiles, detailed list etc.
Step 1: Open the File Explorer.
The file explorer contains four tabs at the top namely File, Home, Share and View.
- File tab has options to open or close a new window or command prompt within a particular folder.
- Home tab contains tools for quick operations including cut, copy, paste, delete etc.
- Share tab is used to share, email, or burn the files.
- View tab provides you with the options to select what and how to display in the file explorer.
Step 2: Open the View tab.
You will find around 8-9 styles to customize and view the icons like large, small, medium, tiles, details etc.
Step 3: Click on the suitable display style, and you will see the immediate effect.
