Steps to change login screen using tweak tool:
Step 1: First you have to install Ubuntu Tweak tool for that type the Linux command below at the terminal and press Enter.
$ sudo add-apt-repository universe $ sudo apt install gnome-tweak-tool
Step 2: After installation of Ubuntu Tweak software, go to your Unity dash and then type “tweak”. You may see Ubuntu Tweak icon, just click on that to open.
Step 3: Now under Ubuntu tweak dialog box, switch to “tweaks” tab.
Step 4: Under ‘Tweaks’ tab, select “Login Settings” as shown in the image below.
Step 5: Now, click on “Unlock” button which is at the top right corner of your screen, then you may be prompted to provide your Ubuntu password for authentication. Just type your password and hit enter.
Step 6: Under ‘login settings’, you may see an option “Click the button to change the login screen background”, click on that button.
Step 7: Now select the background from the given list and then click “open” button to modify your changes.
Step 8: After you logged out, you can see your changed login screen.
