Most of you may not know, that the wallpaper of your log on screen can be changed. This can be accomplished by making some changes in the Registry Editor.
You only need to follow some simple steps explained below,wherein you will learn to change logon Screen in Windows 7 . That will help you to customize your logon screen according to your choice.
Steps to Change Logon Screen in Windows 7
Step 1: Go to “start”, then type “regedit” in the search bar, the “regedit.exe” file will appear, double click on it to open.
Step 2: To run a file, click on yes, the “Registry Editor” appears click on “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE” and then click on “SOFTWARE”.
Step 3: Go to the “Microsoft” folder.
Step 4: Then click on “Windows” folder.
Step 5: Under windows folder there sub folders, click on “CurrentVersion”.
Step 6: Go to “Authentication” folder.
Step 7: Inside the authentication folder, you”ll see “LogonUI” folder click on it.
Step 8: Then go to “Background” folder, Once it is clicked the “OEMBackground” file will appear on the right side, click on this file.
Step 9: A dialog box will appear set a “value data” to ‘1’ and base to “Hexadecimal”and then, press “OK” button.
Step 10: Then go to “C:\Windows\System32”, search for the folder named “oobe” double click on it.
Step 11: Create a folder named “info” inside “oobe” folder.
Step 12: Again create a folder called as “backgrounds” but it should be inside the “info” folder.
Step 13: Now you have to choose the wallpaper that you want to set in your log on screen.
Copy that folder inside “backgrounds” folder as described above.
- Name the folder as backgroundDefault.jpg
- Format of the image should be jpg
- Size of the image should not exceed than 256 KB
NOTE:
To look at the changed logon screen window, press “Win button + L” OR simply Logoff.
