How to Change Monitor Refresh Rate in Windows 7

The Refresh rate refers to the frequency at which the screen is redrawn to offer a better screen quality. People prefer to set a high frequency rate, so that the visibility enhances resulting into the less strain on the eyes.

The Monitor refresh rate can be set separately as well as in respect of the screen resolution. Through this article, you will learn to change monitor refresh rate in windows 7, by performing the simple steps as explained below.

Steps to Change Monitor Refresh Rate in Windows 7

Step 1: Right click on the free area on the desktop and then click on “Screen Resolution”.

Step 2: Click on “Advanced settings”.

Step 3: Go to “Monitor” panel.

Step 4: Under Monitor settings, set “Screen refresh rate” and press “OK”.

Step 5: If you also want to set the screen resolution , click on “Adapter” then go to “List All Modes”.

Step 6: From the list of modes, select the screen resolution and its corresponding refresh rate will set automatically.

Then click on “OK” button.

NOTE:

Ensure that True color is set to 32 bit in order to have an enhanced picture quality.
