How to Change Name in Instagram?

Step 1: Tap on the Instagram icon on your Android phone.

Log in to the account of which you want to change the name, using your login credentials.

Step 2: Now, you have to go to your profile page for that tap on the avatar icon at the extreme right bottom of the screen.

Step 3: In the profile page, below your avatar icon and display name you have an ‘Edit Profile’ button. Here you have to tap on the ‘Edit Profile’ profile button which will allow editing your accounts profile details.

Step 4: Now, you are on the ‘Edit Profile’ page, you can see that there is also an option of changing the profile photo.

You can observe that there are two kinds of names i.e. ‘Name’ and ‘Username’. Well, your ‘Name’ need not be unique several users on Instagram can have the same name and it is the display name

But, the ‘Username’ needs to be unique, no two users on Instagram can have the same username. When you type the username that has been used by some other user on Instagram there appears a message that informs you that this user name has been used by someone and you need to enter another username that should be unique in the context of Instagram.

Step 5: Once you have changed the name tap on the done indicated by the correct sign at the top right corner of the screen.
