A search engine helps a user to search the article on World Wide Web, it returns the list of articles on the different sites which contains the search keyword. The default search engine is the one which is already adopted by the browser for any search. Whenever you type any search keyword in URL or Search box of the browser, the results you obtain are by the default search engine of that browser.
The default Search engine of Mozilla Firefox is Yahoo. But you can change the default search engine of Mozilla Firefox browser. It is not difficult at all. So in this article, we will discuss how can we change the default search engine in Mozilla Firefox browser. So let us start with the steps for same.
Steps to Change the Default Search Engine in Mozilla Firefox:
Step 1: Open a Firefox browser on your window. Beside URL box there is a Search box. When you click that search box you will find a down arrow in the box, click on that down arrow.
At the top of the options popped out, you will observe the default browser; you can see that in the image above. At the bottom of the popped options, there is a Change Search Settings option click it.
Step 2: A new Options tab will get open. You can reach this tab from the Open Menu button also that appears at the top right corner of the browser. Go to the Search section.
Step 3: Under Search section you have Default Search Engine option which shows the default search engine in the drop down box. Click that drop down box, and you will find some more search engines. If your desired search engine is there click on it. As I chose Google.
Step 4: If your desired search engine was not in the list then click on the Add more search engines… option present at the bottom of the tab to add your required search engine.
If done close the Options tab, there is no save button for this. Now when you search anything from URL box or search box, your selected search engine will provide you with the result.
