Cached data enhances the speed of the system thereby improving the user experience. The Windows system saves a lot of cache data to let the system to be more responsive. In case you are running out of space or you find your system being slower due to excessive storage of cache data, the first thing you need to do is clear cache.

Steps to Clear Cache in Windows 10:
Deleting Windows Update Cache
To delete the windows update cache, open your ‘File Explorer’ and then trace the path:
C:>Windows> SoftwareDistribution>Download.
In the Download folder, select all the files and folder and delete them.
Deleting Temporary Cached Files in Windows 10
Step 1: Open the Run command box in Windows 10, you can get it by typing Run on Windows search box or simply by pressing ‘Windows+R’. Type ‘%temp%’ in the Open text box of Run and click OK.
Step 2: It will lead you to Temp folder or you can manually get it by navigating through the folder path C:>User>AppDataLocal>>Temp>. Now, you can view all the temporary generated files and folders. Just select all files and folders, right-click on it and click on Delete among the displayed option.
Step 3: There are more temporary cached files to search them again type ‘temp’ on the run command and click OK.
Step 4: It will lead you to the Temp folder whose manual navigation path is C:>Windows>Temp. Here, you will get temporary cached files. Delete all the temporary files to clear the cache.
Deleting Prefetch Cache
Step 1: Get run command on your screen and type ‘prefetch’ and click OK.
A warning box will appear with the message that you are not permitted to access this particular folder, click Continue to proceed.
The action above will lead you to the Prefetch folder. Go ahead and delete all the files of the folder to delete prefetch cache of your system.
Clear File Explorer History
Step 1: Open File Explorer folder at your system, in the menu bar, click on the View tab. In the extreme right corner, you have Options button, click that Options button.
Step 2: Folder Options window will pop up where you have to click the ‘Clear’ button in the ‘Privacy’ section and click OK.
Disk Cleanup
Step 1: In your Windows search bar type ‘Disk Cleanup’, the Disk Cleanup app will appear in the result. Click on Disk Cleanup app. The ‘Disk Cleanup: Drive Selection’ window will appear where you have to select the drive to clear the cache.
Select C drive for cleaning and click OK.
The C drive is scanned to analyze how much space can be freed.
Step 2: The Disk Cleanup window will show the files that can be deleted where you have to search and select ‘Temporary files’ and click ‘Clean up system files‘ button. It would delete all the temporary files of C drive.
