Do you want to configure Gmail tabs?. Gmail tabs are used to categorize your emails using different tabs namely Primary, Social, Promotional, forum and updates tabs. Now, let’s talk about these tabs in brief:
Primary: This is our first tab, which contains all the important emails regarding your work or business.
Promotional: Next tab is “Promotional” tab, which contains all your mail regarding offers, deals and discount.
Social Messages: Social Messages contain all your mail regarding social network say Facebook, Twitter, etc.
Updates: This tab contains your email regarding gmail notification, statements, bills and receipt.
Forums: This tab contains your email from an online community, groups, mailing lists and discussion boards.

Steps to configure gmail tabs:
Step 1: First have to log in to your gmail account by entering your username and password and then click on “Sign In” button.
Step 2: Next, you have to click on the gear icon, which is at the top right corner of the screen, to open “Configure Inbox” from the drop-down option.
Step 3: Here, you may see a window which contains a list of tabs like Primary, Social, Promotions, Updates, Forums.
Step 4: Here, you can turn on or turn off the tabs that you want. After modifying your changes, click on the “Save” button. (Note: Primary tab is by default enabled and you’re not able to disable it)
Step 5: You may notice some changes in your gmail dashboard after enabling or disabling the gmail tabs. (Note: Redo the same procedure if you want to get back your gmail tabs)
