Now, it is possible to create online and email-based groups with the help of Google Groups. It is a free service where users can connect with one another and discuss the specific topic. To create a Google Group, you must have a google account where you can sign-in using your Gmail username and the password.

Steps to Create a Group on Google:
Step 1: To create a group in Google first enter the URL https://groups.google.com in the address bar of your web browser.
Step 2: The webpage that appears has ‘CREATE GROUP’ button as you can see in the image below:
Click the CREATE GROUP button.
Step 3: Once you click CREATE GROUP button it will ask you to log in to your Google account.
Login using your credentials.
Step 4: After logging in you have to fill some details regarding the group. As you can see in the image below:
You have to enter a name for your Group. An email address for your group. Give your Group’s description. You can also change your Group’s primary language.
Step 5: Select your Group type. It has four options such as:
Email list– With this group type you can contact all your group members by mailing to Google group email address.
Web forum– With this group type, group members can post and reply to any topic on the group.
Q & A Forum– With this group type the group members can post questions and answers.
Collaborative inbox – With this type of group type you can assign questions to specific members of the group.
Step 6: Here, you have to decide the basic permission like:
Group Visibility: You can decide whether your groups’ name, email address and description should be visible to ‘all members of the group’ or to ‘Anyone on Web’.
View Topics: Here, you have to select a group of users who can view or search for topics in this group.
Post: Here, you have to select a group of users who can post a message to this group.
Join the group: Here, you have to decide who can join this particular group.
Step 7: Finally, after filling all the details for your group click on the CREATE button at the top of the page.
Step 8: A captcha will appear verify it and click Continue.
Step 9: A message will appear congratulating you for the Group you created successfully. Click Okay to continue.
Step 10: Now, you can view an interface where you can approve your look to others on the group. After making changes click on Save my changes button.
So finally, your group is created now you can add members to your group by sending them invitations. You can add new topics to your group.
