In the previous article, we learned how to upload and share a file in dropbox. Similarly you can also share an entire folder containing files. Whenever you share any folder of your dropbox with other people, it becomes a shared folder. When you allow people to access and edit the files in the shared folder the changes are synchronized to all the people sharing this folder. So let us start with the steps for How to create and share a folder in Dropbox?
Steps to create and share a folder in Dropbox:
Step 1: Open your dropbox website, and log in using your Id and password. Now you can view your account. Click on the New folder button present to the left of Search box as you can see in the image below.
Step 2: A new folder will be created in the Files section, you can name/rename it according to your need. As my folder would contain files related to the meeting, So I named it Meeting Details.
Step 3: Now open your newly created folder. To add files in this folder, you can simply drag the files from outside to the opened folder, or you can use Upload files button present immediate left to the New folder button. I have added two excel file to the Meeting Details folder.
Step 4: Now come back to File section where you have created the folder. Click on the folder, and you will find a Share button beside it.
Click on the Share button.
Step 5: A Meeting Details dialog box will open, click on Can edit pull-down menu and choose how the people can access your shared folder’s file.
Step 6: Now type the names or email ids of the people with whom you want to share this folder. And finally, click on Share button to share the folder.
