How to Disable Control Panel in Windows 10?

Do you want to disable control panel in Windows 10? If you are not a single user of your system i.e. your system is being used by your friends, family members etc. then you may always be worried about the settings of your system.

Everyone wants the system to be personalized in their own ways. They may change the settings of the system each time they use the system. In this situation, you must disable the control panel. So, that all other users are prohibited from making changes to the system.

Make one thing clear that to disable the control panel you must log in as an administrator. You can implement this method on all version of Windows. In this section, we will discuss the steps to disable the control panel in Windows 10.

Steps to Disable Control Panel in Windows 10:

Step 1: Type ‘gpedit.msc’ in the Windows search box and from the displayed result click on gpedit.msc.

Step 2: A new window ‘Local Group Policy Editor’ will get open on your screen. At the left-hand side of the window, you have a navigation panel and here you have to click on ‘User Configuration’.

Step 3: Under User Configuration, you have to navigate to Administrative Templates.

Step 4: Further navigate to Control Panel and click on the Control panel to open it.

Step 5: In the Control Panel under Settings click on ‘Prohibit access to the Control Panel’.

Step 6: A new dialog box ‘Prohibit access to the Control Panel Properties’ will get open. Here go to the Setting tab and click on ‘Enabled’ to prohibit the access to the control panel.

At the end click on Apply and OK.
