How to Disable OneDrive?

OneDrive is cloud storage which is already enabled in the Windows 10 system. As soon as you start your Windows 10 system the OneDrive is started automatically. But there are some situations where you want the OneDrive to be disabled.

OneDrive allows you to disable it whenever you require. In this section, we will discuss the steps to disable OneDrive on your system.

Steps to Disable OneDrive in Windows 10:

Step 1: In Windows 10 by default the OneDrive is enabled and it starts synchronizing the files from the point the system starts. To disable the OneDrive first click on the OneDrive icon present on the taskbar.

Or if you can’t view it there, search it under the hidden icons present on the taskbar. When you click on OneDrive icon you will find a More icon at the bottom, presented with three horizontal dots. Click on More.

Step 2:  Clicking on More displays some options among which you have to click on Settings.

Step 3: Settings option will pop up a Microsoft OneDrive Window which has a Settings tab. In the Settings tab under the General section, you have to disable the option which enables the automatic start of the OneDrive whenever you sign in to Windows.

Step 4: Next, you have to click on the Accounts tab. Further, you have to click the link ‘Unlink this PC’.

Step 5: A Microsoft OneDrive dialog box will pop up which states that unliking this pc would stop synchronizing your files on the device to your OneDrive account and the online-only files will be removed from the device. If you agree with the statement click on Unlink account.
