How to Disable Pop-up Blocker in Firefox

While surfing different websites on the browser you may have experienced that small windows pop up even when you don’t perform any action on the website. These small windows are pop-ups. Generally, the pop-up blocker is enabled. Do you want to disable the pop-up blocker in Firefox?

The pop-ups or the small windows are mostly used for advertisement and they are small enough and they never cover your browser window. Firefox allows you to disable the pop-ups.

In this tutorial, we will discuss two methods to disable pop-ups blocker.

Steps to Disable Pop-up Blocker in Firefox:

Step 1: Launch your Firefox web browser and click the menu button. From the displayed option click on Options.

Step 2: You can now view the preference page and from the left index click on Privacy & Security.

Step 3: Under Privacy & Security you have Permission section in which you have a checkbox ‘Block pop-up windows’ uncheck this checkbox to disable the pop-up blocker.

Step 4: If you want to customize the disabling of pop-ups blocker for certain websites then by enabling the ‘Block pop-up windows’ click on the Exceptions button beside it.

Step 5: In the ‘Allowed Websites – Pop-ups’ window you have an ‘Address of website’ text box in which you can place the address of the websites of whose pop-up blocker you want to enable and click Allow followed by Save Changes.

You can enable pop-up blocker of several websites by placing their addresses here one at a time.

Step 1: Open your Control Panel and click on Network and Internet.

Step 2: In the Network and Internet window, click on Internet Options.

Step 3: Now you have an Internet Properties window where under the Privacy tab you can disable pop-up blocker by unchecking the ‘Turn on Pop-up Blocker’ checkbox. Click Apply.

Step 4: Again, if you want to customize the disabling of a pop-up blocker, then by enabling the ‘Turn on Pop-up Blocker’ click on Settings.

Step 5: Under the Exceptions window place the address of website whose pop-up blocker you want to disable in ‘Address of websites to allow:’ text box and click Add.

You can also choose between either to play a sound or to show a notification when a pop-up is blocked.
