In that, we have studied that Screen saver are the short computer programs that were introduced to prevent the CRT screen from phosphorus burn-in. But this problem is not there in today’s LCD and LED screens. So, a screen saver is just for entertainment.
But some people find it annoying that whenever a computer is not in use for some time, then the screen saver starts displaying on the screen. It becomes irritating while presentations. So it’s better to disable the screen saver in that case. In this article, I have discussed two methods of disabling the screen saver. First, is using regedit editor, and second, is using Control Panel. So let us start with How to disable Screen Saver in Windows 7?
Steps to disable Screen Saver in Windows 7:
Step 1: Click the Windows Start button and in the search box write regedit. It means Registry Editor.
Step 2: Right-click on the regedit, and select Run as administrator.
Step 3: A Registry Editor will get opened. Now trace the following path on left side of the editor.
Computer > HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Control Panel > Desktop.
Click on the Desktop. Various files will appear on the left side of editor’s windows.
Step 4: Search for a ScreenSaveActive file, right-click on file and click Modify or just double click on it.
Step 5: An Edit String Dialog box will be opened. Which states the value assigned to ScreenSaveActive.
If you assign 1 in Value data, it will activate your Screen saver.
If you assign 0 in Value data, it will disable your Screen saver.
Step 1: Click on Windows Start button and go to Control Panel.
Step 2: Click on Appearance and Personalization.
Step 3: Click on Change screen saver.
Step 4: Screen Saver Settings window will open. Under Screen saver drop-down list. Select None to disable screen saver and click on Apply.
