Enabling the pop-up blocker may keep you deprived of the important features of some websites. As some website uses these pop-ups windows for the important features. Enabling pop-up blocker will disable these features for you.
Well, some websites are not affected by enabling the pop-up blocker as they will still display the pop-ups using uncovered methods. In this section, we will discuss two methods of enabling the pop-up blocker.
Step to Enable Pop-up Blocker in Firefox:
Using the Firefox Web Browser
Step 1: Click the menu button of Firefox web browser present at the top right corner of the web page. From the displayed options click on Options.
Step 2: A new Options tab will be launched; in the index section, you have a Privacy & Security category click it.
Step 3: Under the Privacy & Security category you have a Permissions section where you have to enable the pop-up blocker by checking the ‘Block pop-up windows’ checkbox.
Step 4: You can customize the pop-up blocker, for this click on Exception beside the pop-up windows checkbox.
Step 5: Allowed Websites – Pop-ups window will appear where you can add the addresses of the websites of whose pop-ups you want to allow.
Using Control Panel
Step 1: In the Search box of Windows search for the Control Panel app. Open the Control Panel app.
Step 2: In the Control Panel click on Network and Internet section.
Step 3: Further you have to click on Internet Options.
Step 4: An Internet Properties dialog box will appear. Here, go the Privacy tab and check the ‘Turn on Pop-up Blocker’ checkbox to enable the pop-up blocker.
Step 5: To customize the enabling of pop-up blocker click on Settings.
Step 6: The Pop-up Blocker Settings dialog box will appear where you can add the addresses of the websites for which you want to allows the pop-ups.
