Are you trying to put a glitch transition effect in your video? Then this content will direct you the way to do it. The glitch effect is the appearance of intentional error or flaw in the video. Generally, the glitch effect is implemented to engage the attention of the audience.
The glitch effect is added to a point where there is a shift between two clips. In this tutorial, we will discuss two methods to generate a glitch transition effect using PowerDirector.
Steps to Make a Glitch Transition Effect in PowerDirector:
Method 1 of 2 Using Glitch Video
Step 1: Import and place two video clips on the Timeline in track 1. Place a glitch video on Timeline in track 2 and place a distorted sound clip just below the Glitch clip. Keep the glitch video and glitch sound clip align to each other so they start and end at the same time.
Also, make sure that the glitch video’s mid is just below the conjunction of two video clips on track 1.
Step 2: Now just overlaying a glitch clip at the conjunction of two videos is not enough you have to blend this glitch clip to get stunning effects. For that select the glitch video clip and it will activate the ‘Tools’ above so click on Tools.
From the options displayed by the ‘Tools’ just click on ‘Power Tools’.
Step 3: In Power Tool Settings enable the Blending Mode.
Blending mode helps you to blend or mix the selected video with the videos on a track above it on the Timeline. The blending mode provides you with eight different effects to apply on the selected clip so select your preferred effect.
Now click on the play button on the preview window and see the glitch effect.
Method 2 of 2 Using Effects Room
Step 1: Import and place two video clips on the timeline on track 1, between which you want to generate the glitch effect. Now click on the ‘Effects Room’ from the navigation panel.
Step 2: From the Effects Room search for the distorted effect that you can use to generate a glitch effect. I have opted to choose ‘BCC Damaged TV’. Drag the selected effect on the effects track of the Timeline.
Step 3: Now you need to modify this effect in order to get a stunning glitch effect. So select the glitch style clip and from the activated tools above click on ‘Modify’.
Step 4: It will prompt the Effect Settings window where you can customize the glitch effect by increasing the distorted amount, degraded amount, noise; reducing the signal strength etc.
Step 5: Finally add audio with distorted noise which would make the glitch more effective.
So this is how you can make the glitch transition effect in PowerDirector. Hope you find the content useful. Keep reading.
