Steps to Hide Files and Folders in Windows 7:
Step 1: Select the file or folder that you want to hide. Right-click on it and click on the Properties among the options in the list.
Step 2: Folder’s Properties window will pop out. Under General tab, in Attributes section check out the Hidden checkbox. Click Apply and then OK.
Step 3: A Confirmation box will pop out to confirm the changes you applied to the attributes of a file or a folder. Here, you have to choose whether you want to apply the changes in the Attributes, to the subfolder and file inside the selected folder or only to the selected folder. Choose according to your need and click OK.
After Step 3 the selected folder will appear faded but it is still visible to make it completely invisible you have to continue with step 4.
Step 4: Now, The window from where you selected the folder will have Organize tab in the menu ribbon of the window. Click on Organize, a list of option will appear. From the list choose Folder and search options to launch Folder Options window.
there is an another way to launch the Folder Options window. Open the Control Panel window and click Appearance and Personalization tab. Under Appearance and Personalization, click On the Folder Options to launch Folder Options Window.
Step 5: A Folder Options window is opened Select View tab. View tab allows you to set the appearance of a folder or a file and also allows to set the Advanced settings.
Step 6: Under View tab, in Advanced settings turn on the radio button of “Don’t show hidden files, and folders, or drives“. Click Apply and OK. It will let your targeted folder become completely invisible.
