Gnome menu is the part of Ubuntu operating system since its inception. As you know that an Ubuntu menu changed from time to time, previously its gnome but now we are using Unity style launcher which contains all the programs and applications.
Though Ubuntu experienced a tremendous change in its graphical user interface, still some of the users like to use old but classic gnome menu. So in this article, we will let you know about how to install classic gnome menu in Ubuntu 14.04.
Steps to install classic gnome menu:
Step 1. First open your terminal by pressing “Ctrl + Alt + T” and then type: “sudo apt – add – repository ppa:diesch/testing ” , press enter.
Step 2. You’ll be prompted for Ubuntu password, type your password and hit enter.
Step 3. Now, again press enter in order to continue.
Step 4. When the above process is completed then, type: “sudo apt – get update” and press enter.
Step 5. When you see your package is updated, then type: “sudo apt – get install classicmenu – indicator” and press enter.
Step 6. Just press ‘y’ (yes), when you’ll be prompted to continue this process.
Step 7. Finally, after restarting your system, you’ll see your classic gnome menu indicator as shown in the image below.
