How to Remember Password in Firefox?

Have you created multiple accounts on different websites? This might create confusion while remembering the password of each account. Well, the Firefox web browser by default offers its users to remember passwords of their accounts.

You must have experienced that whenever you log in to any of your accounts on Firefox, a pop-up window appears which offers you that if you want, Firefox will remember your login credential for that particular website.

If you are not a single user of your system then you can also create a master password which will protect the information related to the password. You have to enter this master password only once when you start the session.

Let us start with the steps to remember password in Firefox. We will discuss two ways to do the same.

Step 1: Open your Firefox web browser and click on the menu button at the top right corner of the browser window. From the displayed option click on Options.

Step 2: A new options tab will be opened and here in the index section click on Privacy and Security.

Step 3: Under Privacy and Security, you have Logins and Passwords section. Here, you have to check a checkbox which offers you to save your login credentials for websites.

Step 4: For customizing the saving of Logins and Passwords click on exceptions buttons, as you can see in the image below.

Step 5: An Exceptions window will appear where you can save the addresses of the websites for which you don’t want Firefox to remember the Login credentials.

Using Master Password

Step 1: Follow step 1 and 2 of the above method and reach the Privacy and Security section. Here, under Logins and Password section check the checkbox asking to use a master password as you can see in the image below.

 Step 2: Change Master Password window will appear where you can create a master password which will save the sensitive information regarding your websites passwords. Click OK when you create your master password.

You are also warned that you must remember your master password otherwise you won’t be able to access the passwords that are protected by the master password.

A dialog box will appear which will confirm that your master password is created successfully.
