Initially, the Screensaver was important to prevent the phosphor burn-in in CRT screens. But that is not the problem in today LCD screens. The screen saver is now just for entertainment. It is a computer program that displays a blank screen, rotating 3D Text, bubbles, etc. on the screen when the computer is not in use. Steps to set Screen saver in Windows 7:
Step 1: Click on the Start button of Window and click on the Control Panel.
Step 2: Inside Control Panel click on the Appearance and Personalization option.
Step 3: Inside Appearance and Personalization section, there is again has a Personalization Section. Under which, you have a Change screen saver option. Click it to set a screen saver.
Step 4: Screen Saver Settings window will be opened. Under Screen saver section first select the kind of Screensaver you want to want to apply. You have various options like 3D Text, Blanks, Bubbles, Mystify, Photos, Ribbons. Some of them, you just have to apply while some of them you can customize. Like 3D Text.
Step 5: After selecting the type of Screen saver, adjust the wait time. Which declares after how many minutes a screen saver must start, if computer is not in use. You can preview the selected screen saver with the Preview button.
Now the screen saver I chose i.e. 3D Text can be customized using the Settings button.
Step 6: A 3D Text Settings window will be opened. In that, you can change the Custom Text that will appear while Screensaver is displaying. You can change its font type, rotation type and many other things. You can preview your modifications using Display Settings button. Click OK when modifications are over.
Step 7: Click on Apply to make all the changes you made to screen saver, permanent.
