Want to trim a video on iPhone you can do it using the inbuilt Photos apps. You need to trim a video in case it is lengthy and you are unable to send it via message or mail. Or if you feel that only a part of the video is useful to you.
While trimming a video you can always decide the starting and ending of your video. Trimming a video obviously reduces the duration of the video. In this section, we will discuss how to trim video on iPhone.
Steps to Trim Video on iPhone:
Step 1: Open the Photos app on your iPhone.
Step 2: From the gallery select the video you need to trim and tap on the video to open it.
Step 3: Now at the top right corner of the video you have to tap on Edit to start editing the video.
Step 4: As you can see in the image below in the timeline of the video at both the side you have arrow bars which you can drag from both the side to decide the starting and end of the video.
The video clip that retains inside the yellow frame will be the final video after trimming is finalized. To preview how the trimmed video will appear you can tap the play button beside the yellow frame. If you are satisfied with the trimming then you just tap on Done.
It will ask you whether you want to save trimming to the existing video or you want to save the trimmed section as the new video. Tap on your desired option to save the changes.
Undo Trimming
Step 1: Open the trimmed video in Editing mode in the Photos app.
Step 2: There at the right bottom of your iPhone’s screen you can see the Revert button. Tap the Revert button to undo all the changes that you have performed on the video including the trimming action.
To confirm your action you have to tap on Revert to Original which will remove all edits that you have made to the original video.
So, this is how you can trim a video in iPhone using the Photos app on your iPhone. You can even use some other third-party apps such as iMovie, InShot, etc.
