How to Turn Off Notifications in Windows 10?

By Neha T 2 Comments

Everyone must be familiar with the random notification pop-ups appearing time to time on their computer screens. Whenever an application wants to seek your attention in order to let you know about some change, update or anything, it displays a notification.

Usually, the notifications appear on the bottom right corner of your screen. These notification pop-ups are visible on the screen for a short period of 5-6 seconds and eventually they disappear themselves. However, you can also dismiss them as well.

Windows 10 provides an Action Center which is like a panel for notifications and quick actions. The icon of the action center is present on the right-most corner of the taskbar.

This icon of Action Center gets filled with the white color as soon as a notification arrives, along with a number badge to show the number of notifications.

  1. Quick actions: Under this heading, you can add, remove and rearrange the quick actions which appear in the action center.
  2. Notifications: There are five toggle switches here, each for a different type of notification like notifications coming from apps, notifications displayed on the lock screen, pop-ups for alarms, VoIP calls, tips & suggestions etc.
Switching off the toggle button will stop the respective notifications from popping up on the screen.
