How to Upload in OneDrive?

Have to ever tried to Upload in OneDrive? When you upload any file or folder to OneDrive you can access them from anywhere in this world and from any device connected to the internet. You may upload the files and folder to free up space from your system.

In this context, we will discuss different methods to upload the files and folders to OneDrive.

  1. Using Web Browser
  2. Using File Explorer

Steps to Upload in OneDrive:

Using Web Browser

Step 1: Open your web browser and in the address bar type the URL www.office.com. Here, sign in using your credentials.upload-to-OneDrive-1

Step 2: Once logged in you can see the various Office apps among which you have to click on OneDrive. It will get opened in the new tab of the browser.

Step 3: In your OneDrive you have to click on the Upload dropdown button as you can see in the image below:

Step 4: The Upload dropdown button will display the options of whether you want to upload Files or Folder. Select the option according to your requirement.

Step 5: If you have selected Files from Upload options, you will get an Open window where you have to select files to be uploaded to OneDrive. After selecting the files click Open.

If you have selected Folder from Upload options then you will get a Select Folder to Upload window where you have to select a folder to upload and then click on the Upload button.

The other method to upload files using the browser is that you can open a File Explorer on your system and simply drag the item to your OneDrive website as you can see in the image below.

Using File Explorer

Method 1

Open the File Explorer on your system and also open your OneDrive folder on the system. Simply drag the item to your OneDrive Folder. As you can see in the image below:

If your system is connected to the internet your file or folder will immediately get uploaded to the OneDrive. If your system doesn’t have access to the internet for time being the process will halt and as soon as the system gets access to the internet it will upload the file to your OneDrive.

Method 2

Open your File Explorer and select the file that you want to upload. Right-click on the selected file and you can view an option ‘Move to OneDrive’. Click on ‘Move to OneDrive’ and the file will get uploaded to the OneDrive.
Note: This method will remove the corresponding file from your system. To overcome this flaw let discuss the next method.

Method 3

You can simply copy-paste the file from File Explorer to the OneDrive folder and it would simply upload your file to OneDrive and you can access it from anywhere.
