How to Video Chat in Zoom?

In between the meeting you can also video chat in Zoom. If you are a host of the meeting then you can also decide with whom the participant can chat or you can disable the chat completely. You can also chat with an individual between the meeting.

You can also send files to the participants in the meeting during the chat. In this section, we will discuss the steps to Video Chat in Zoom.

Steps to Video Chat in Zoom:

Steps 1: Open the Zoom app on your system and start a new meeting if you are the host of the meeting. In our last content, we have learnt how to host a meeting in Zoom.

If you are just a participant then when you open the Zoom app you have to click on the Join a Meeting button as you can see in the image below:

Step 2: Now you have to enter the Meeting Id, then click on Join and then enter Meeting password.

Step 3: Now when the host will admit you; you can view the video of all the participants of the meeting.

In the example below there are only two participants in the meeting. You can see the Chat icon at the bottom of the Zoom screen. Click that Chat icon.

Step 4: Zoom Group Chat window will pop up or you may see the Zoom Group Chat section to the right side of the Zoom Window, depending on your settings.

You can see a ‘Type message here ….’ text box. Just your message in the text box and press enter to post your message.

Step 5: In case you want to chat with a particular person then click on the “To:” dropdown box. There selects the person you want to chat with and then type your message and post. This message will only be visible to the selected person.

You can also upload or post a file during Chat using the File icon above the message text box.
